Provide feedback.
In a digital citizenship course, my colleagues and I were assigned to give each other feedback on a group discussion we all worked on as a team. Therefore, I provided feedback to both of my colleagues that I was in a group with on how they did their parts of the project we worked on together. The first colleague I provided feedback for pointed out how social media feeds can cause mental health concerns among some users because some feeds could remind some users negative emotions in their life like a mother giving birth can be negative for a woman that cannot get pregnant. My feedback about this part of my colleague’s discussion asking if he considered if those users adjusting their time away from social media could help mental health concerns. However, my other colleague I provided feedback mentioned how it could be hard to limit ourselves away from social media, even if some users receive negative impact on social media feeds since social media is now a primary source of entertainment for most users. She then suggested maybe having some users move their entertainment more towards gaming than social media to limit mental health concerns and increase positive feelings. At her response, I mentioned that there are also fair amount of bullying over video games as well through online games where users will be able to interact with one another. In general, I have provided feedback on what else my colleagues could consider thinking about to potentially solve the issues they have addressed about social media harming mental health.
Facilitate strategic planning for change.
I have facilitated strategic planning for change in a grants develop and project design course with a grants proposal project as shown down below. In this grants proposal project, my program title was to find grants to facilitate and upgrade library computer accessibility specifically for low-income students. Throughout this grants proposal project, I have facilitated strategic planning on why it is important to propose this grants and why we would need it. I included who will be served, how many will be served, what area of the library we need this services, and so on as presented below. The main purpose of this change in the library of this university is to guarantee that there will always be upgraded computers available for low-income students that could not afford a computer nor internet connection themselves.
